Where to find serial number of my motor?

I have a Mercury Tracker 60 Pro Series. I am trying to locate the serial number of the engine so I can learn more about it. There is no plate externally on either side that I can see. When I remove the cover, I do not see anything that resembles a serial number either. The motor is on a 1993 Bass Tracker TX17. It runs good, I would just like to buy the service manual on eBay so I have it.

Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Scott. I do not see anything on the transom clamp or leg, not even a spot where it used to be.

In the olden days the plates were riveted on. These days some only have a sticker. Contact Tracker Marine - they are still in business.

You might try raising the motor, sometimes the stickers are under there and covered with crud, should be visible looking forward at the back of the clamp you bolt thru.
