Where to find?

I am in the process of replacing the transom plywood in my 89 Sea Nymph,where can I buy the aluminum cap that mounts on top of the transom tofinish off the transom.Its the U shaped soft aluminum that runs from one side to the other.Thanks in advance,Paul

Welcome to iboats.

I have not seen that sold. You could probably go to a fabrication shop and have a piece made and use a rubber mallet to help it conform to the curves (if any/if needed). I used 2" aluminum angle and a mallet but I had to put in a few relief cuts...... then I sealed the exposed edge with 3m5200.

I've used a company called American Metal Moulding Corp. for that type of cap. They sell architectural mouldings for the building trades. They have 2 locations, both in Pa. I'm not sure if they'll ship.

I think you'll be looking for the aluminium channels listed at the end.

I went to a local sheet metal fabricating shop,Martin County Sheet metal,and he is fabricating the channel to cover the transom,can do any size you want. Thanks for the replies,Paul
