I work the 3-4 cyl 2 stroke Merc arena. My last 2 engines were 2002 models. OEM manual I had with the 3 cyl was for engines in this category and the manual starts with the 1994 engines and goes on out to the end of production in 2005 I assume...since I am interested in 2002 year models.
So I donated that rig, the one in my Avatar (and manual) to the local fire/rescue dept thinking I was out of boating. Boat was perfect for their kind of work. 5 years later I'm back into boating with a 4 cyl of the same yearmodel. In looking for a manual I went to ebay and found the same manual but it was updated in 2015. There are some subtle differences, some things are explained more clearly. One thing I noticed the gapped plug was an option in the original manuals is no longer listed. Too bad as I liked to run the gappers in the 3 cyl and I run them in the current 4, Iridiums.....NGK BPR6HIX, NGK stock # 4085 gapped out to 0.040 like the original copper tipped, gapped plugs.
