Where to hook up my tach

Hello to all, <br />I have a 73 or 74 115 envirude and it is a manual shift with two cable. I don't think it is the right shift control for that motor but it do work. My problem is that I don't have a tach on my boat. I have one but I don't know where to hook the wires for my tach to.Plus I don't know how much RPM that motor suppose to turn.
