where to mount a transducer

hi i bought a hummingbird 570di,,,gonna put it on a fiberglass four winns 150,,,,,,,,,kinda confused where to mount the transducer,,,,,ive heard different things including mounting it inside the boat,,,,,,,sooo im not sure where on back of the boat or how high,,,or mount it inside the boat,,,,,,thank you

You mount it either inside or outside the boat following the instructions for transducer mounting. Where you mount it is personal choice. The actual mounting position on the exterior of the boat is to the right side of the outdrive (as far from it as possible) and NOT in line with any chines, strakes or other protrusions on the bottom of the boat. Can't help with mounting height since transducers are all different in that regard. If the boat has a foam core it won't shoot through the hull so your only choice is on the stern.
