Where to park a wakeboarding boat?

So I'm getting closer to buying one of these wake boarding boats, but as I mentioned in another thread, I don't want to pay a separate mooring fee which is about $600 USD per month. I was advised against sharing the mooring with my 45 footer because being out on the water so long might harm the hull and if it rains, the boat might sink.

How valid are these concerns? Wouldn't a simple cover resolve the latter issue? The other option is parking it on land which will still cost about $400/month.

Might sink? Obviously you would need a cover and an automatic bilge pump, but people moor wakeboard boats all the time.

not very valid, imo. if you have the space, go for it. you can get bottom paint for the hull. plenty of people keep their boats in the water.

I keep mine in the side yard under full canvass, but I also have several different bodies of water to play on so docking is pointless for me. Leaving a boat in the water, leaves it susceptible to blistering and other nightmares...

I'm guessing that your ski boat would be exposed to the sunlight as it may be moored behind your boat? I repeatedly see boats that are moored under cover, under a canvas boat cover, and the rear end of the boat is damaged and faded by the sunlight as the boat is pulled in bow first and the back of the boat is exposed to the sunlight. The UV rays will damage the gel coat colors on your boat. I would recommend a regular UV protection spray to help prevent this on the exposed fiberglass areas.

One possibility is this product. 303 Protectant

Has anyone else used a product like this or others with good success for this purpose?
