I'm replacing the cam seals and installing speedy sleeves on my water pump. I have the rotor and stator off and all the bolts off the timing cover and the three front bolts and about four bolts back along both sides on the oil pan. Of course the cover is sealed to the motor, and of I don't want to break anything. Is there any recommendation as to how to get the cover to break loose. There doesn't seem to be any edges to catch to tap on or any good pry locations.
I also have another question. I was looking at some of the download manuals and notice that there seems to be two different configurations for the cam seals. One of course has the seal riding on the camshaft. The other seems to show a separate (removable) shaft. Am I correct on this? It refers to the old style with a nut holding on the impeller verses the new style with a bolt going into the cam. Any advice would be appreciated.
