While it's not nice to laugh at others misfortunes, I literally ROLFMAO when I first read that thread, and the way that it was written was priceless.

What I'd like to know, is exactly what they would have needed to do by an engineers standpoint to make that boat seaworthy. I really don't understand why they built it so skinny. That in and of itself would have been the first flag that I would have raised...'specially after living in a 14x80 mobile home for 4 years and seeing what a 16 wide was like :D

I recall they started out with a shell and designed a superstructure that was more ambitious than the hull could support with stability.

It doesn't take a marine architect to mock up a scaled down model and do stability tests, just common sense to practice prudence and base your plans on results or experience.

They got the aspect ratio quite wrong, a log rolls a lot easier than a raft.

i dont really think they knew the final weight of the third tier jonsey.

pete said they were putting tons of stuff in the salon.
the finish on the pics looked good. and unless they were making the finishing stuff out of really light composits, they added huge weight to an allready borderline stability situation.

but geez......i really hope they did it....

has any body googled the name of the boat and see if people can buy tickets or rent it today?

Whats sad is I bet it could have been a nice boat if they didn't get carried away and try to make it look modern. Redoing a boat can only be done by the owner doing the work or it will cost more then the boat will be worth. I try to do the boat as I am doing it to sell not that I want to sell it but one day the boat will be sold and you need to find many buyers to get top dollar. it is almost Impossible to make a older boat look new.
