Where would you put this transducer?

I'm having trouble keeping a 'fix' when up on plane or in rough water. I need to move the transducer (on the left in the photo), but where would you put it? I supose I could shoot through the hull, but this old Chris has a pretty thick keel.

Thoughts?

Unfortunately, I'd say your transducer has pretty much found a home right where it is. With "wall to wall" trim tabs you're relegated to exactly where you have it...which is, unfortunately, not the place for a transducer. A "thick" keel has nothing to do with mounting a "through hull" effectively, should you want to go to that expense and exercise. Now, a "shoot through" on any hull will give up something if not everything, particularly a "thick" one".
