Where's oil filter?

I have an 89 mercruiser 5.0 and I can't find the oil filter. Is it possible that there isn't one? The place where I thought it should be(under the water/fuel separator) looks like it just has some sort of bypass. Thanks for any help.

It has one, look towards the back of the engine....​

Just picture the most awkward place to reach you can think of, starter on one side, filter on other.
