Re: Which 20-24' pontoons have 24" center cross channels?
Welcome to iboats.
Why so opposed to 24'', it has worked fine for many many years.
You are really limiting your market with just 16 since it is fairly new thing, probably in the last 3-4 years and as far as I am aware noone builds all thier boats 16 , they do both so you would have to look at each model from several builders.
I personnaly think it is a sales gimmick of sorts, while it does add some strength it also adds a bunch of weight and cost.
I am at Bennignton and we have boats that are 16 but we also build alot with 24, I have run both and would be really suprised if you could pick the boat that has 16 just by running it.
If they are done correctly with M brackets, 4 attachment points to the tube and good cross members, I really don't think the added weight is worth the small increase in rigidity you get.
You are almost going to have to go to the manufaturers web site and see what models have the 16 centers and then look for one of those boats used but as I said, it is a fairly new thing so you may have a long road ahead of you.
