WHICH ALFA IS IT???

Can someone tell me the major differances between all the Mercruiser ALFA drives, how to tell the differance and whether it even matters? Is there better or worse series? I am going to look at a 1995 Mariah with a 350 mag/alfa this weekend I am in the dark on the Mercruiser stuff. Thanks.

Alpha GenII has thru bolts holding the upper and lower case halves together.GenII has all the latest improvements Merc has right now.Both are only as good as the maintenance they received.Hope this helps

That would be a Gen.II...........<br />I believe the switch occured in 1993.........
