I couldn't care less how reliable it is. The whole time I own it it will be under warranty. I'm even going to get free oil changes for the first 2 years.<br /><br />Now I'm leaning towards the Grand Cherokee SRT 8. $39k sounds down right reasonable for one of these:<br />

Since its leaning toward the GC with a hemi,you could go ahead and put a lift kit under it and some 33's then you could really have some fun

Hey ZMOZ -- Just a lil update on the Daimler/Jeep engines.<br /><br />The '07 Rubicon(Wrangler) has the new 3.7 liter motor next year; buh-bye to the old I6. I'm not sure what I think about that. The I6 has been around for EONS and has proven itself well from its long life/longetivity. Its also a very torquey motor. <br /><br />I have a friend who works in service at a Jeep dealership. While I was in their shop shootin-da-poop with him a manager came up and we got to talking about the DC/Jeep diesels. The diesel in the Liberty is going to be different next year. I guess the current one cannot keep up with the Fed's standards. Also, the rumor of the GC diesel seems to be a little more than rumor. The mgr was at a meeting with some DC reps and they said it is going to happen... maybe not in '07 but probably '08.<br /><br />Sean

Yeah, I've been reading all the reviews I can on the GC and they all act like the 3.7 is such an improvement over the 4.0 - and then go on to call it underpowered and recommend the V8. HP is the only number they see...I don't think they know what a torque curve is. I would look into a 3/4 ton truck if you can use it. It Will benifit you mor if you ever look into getting a bigger boat or camper or what ever you may like to tow. You won't be as restricted to what you can tow safely. Plus the resale value of a 3/4 ton truck is going to be better down the road. The Cummins motor is a great option on the truck. It get good mpg and is a very reliable truck. Plus it will really help your resale value. When buying a new car/truck don't look at what you only need right now, look down the road to. I use to sell cars and trucksand have had people buy what they want now, but come back a year or two later becuase they have outgrown what they thought they wanted. It makes slesman very happy!!!
