Dear yachtsmen,
Which flag do you prefer for your yacht?
What is the main criteria while choosing a flag?

The jolly roger is the only flag we fly. An American flag would have to be kept in proper repair, which is tough on a boat.

I have a North Carolina flag on the starboard side and a ECT flag on the port.

My wife got me a 3'x5' U.S. flag. I handle it with care and its kept inside our house unless we are out on the boat. I wouldnt mind flying a Texas flag or Jolly Roger also.

US flag at the stern and the Jolly Roger on the VHF antenna.

Yacht Ensign (she is documented) at the stern unless it is a holiday and then oversized U.S. flag.
USCGAUX ensign on the radar mast and burgee on the bow staff.

My son and I "Post the Color" and "Retrieve the Colors" at the beginning and ending of each trip. Small US flag off the anchor light post.

Canada flag on stern, Jolly Roger on pulpit, Burgee on VHF antenna.

USA - I have a proper flag pole this year......

I also have a Martini flag I fly while docked in the marina......
