How specific do I have to be with my replacement fuel gauge?
Would any mercruiser gauge work?
I'm guessing I need one for the specific size of my tank right? Or will it just send the the same voltage at 50% as a different sized tank at 50%?
Thanks

They are pretty much universal and not Mercruiser specific. They don't go by the tank size but on the angle of the arm inside. The resistance changes as the arm goes up and down.

All you need to make sure of it that the sender is a '33 to 240 ohm' unit... That's the range the Merc gauge is looking for... As for the tank size, as Thumpar said, you adjust the length of the arm to match the depth of the fuel tank....
