While recently putting my 1989 Evinrude 90 hp bakc together I managed to bust the hose fitting on the carb bowl. I ordered a new bowl and it arrived.

When I went to take the orifices out of the old bowl I stripped the slots on all four.

The high speed orifices I took out have "63C" stamped on them.

The only place I could find orifices was at www.ishopmarine.com. They idetnified the 56C as the proper orifice. And they only carried a low speed orifice for a 100STL. It was a 26C.

BTW I checked the other carb and it had the 63C orifices in it too.

The manual I have is no help on the matter.

What orifices do I need?

Re: Which High/low Speed Orifices

At this time of night, I don't have the manual in front of me to check the correct size. Do not replace a 63C with a 56C. This would lean out the fuel flow. What these numbers mean! a 63C is .063, a 56C is .056, or what the orifice size is in inchs. Here is another tip! never try to remove an orifice with a tapered bit screw driver. This will result in damage to the jet, and likely gouge out the threads in the carb body. Take a screw driver with a slightly undersise .250, or "1/4" inch shank, cut off the tip, and file to a straight tip to fit the slot in the jet. Seat the jet with just gentle pressure,
