Old thread, but just what I needed to hear. My 250 cleaned up nicely with the soda blast.
Looks like the previous owner recently had a new midsection put in.
I've heard soda blasting is not recommended prior to putting on some paints, but I'm gonna do it anyway and without primer. She's a trailered boat so I can keep an eye on her and do what needs to be done if this doesn't work.
Oh, I can't believe Volvo did this on purpose, but there's a hole in the bracket at the zinc which allows one to access the bellows clamps with a long screwdriver. Nice!
I'll work the clamps at the outdrive end with a socket so as not to scratch my new bellows.
