i'm thinking about buying a new 15 hp outboard for my boat, (a 14ft aluminum) can anybody here give me some info?which of these 4 is the better motor--honda,tohatsu,nissan or evinrude........... thanks

Honda. The others are good outboards, but you will soon be finding carbed 2 strokes banned at many places and that is the only 4 stroke you list.

Now if you are looking at 4 strokes either Tohatsu is a good value (the Nissan is a rebadged Tohatsu).

i was thinking more on evinrude(4 stroke ) being that of its lower maintenance.
i know where i live in las vegas nevada, there going to ban 2 cycle outboards 12/31/2012. so thats why i'm looking for a 4 storke....................thanks

Well, a used Evinrude 4 stroke from the 90s is a pretty good li'l engine, but you will play heck finding parts or service.

I am not aware of any current Evinrude 4 stroke 15HP.

yo JB, does mercury have a decent 4 stroke 15 hp? and would you say they are better then or worse then honda? and how are they with price in comparison with a honda?

Honda is a better outboard for more money than the Tohatsu made Nissan or Merc.
