So, the 2 amp fuse would work with either leghth strip? These lights would be on while motor is running and while docked at pier. Also, how did you mount them. Mine will be attched to fiberglass under the top of the rod holders which are horizontal on either side of the boat.

yeah, no real danger of the lights drawing a lot of current -- you're mostly just protecting against a direct short, so if they blow 2amp, I'd feel safe bumping it up to 5.

Mine are mounted on the back of the switch panel, bent around in a crazy configuration and hidden from view, so looks didn't matter. I drilled & tapped the plexiglass backside of the panel for some machine screws, the screws are alongside the LED strip & screw heads holding it down. Added some solid conductor copper wire (uninsulated romex, actually), wrapped around the screws and bent over the top of the strip for additional support, if that makes sense.

Those amber LEDs put out a *LOT* of light.

JTexas, what gauge wire should I use?

Nice job JT....I bet the picture doesn't really do the panel justice!
