Re: Which manual is better? Seloc or Clymer?
Though I have a Clymer manual now for Evinrude/Johnson from 1956 to 1972,...I
will still save for and buy the OEM manual as you suggest from outboardbooks.com. I am afraid I got just a little ahead of myself by buying
the Clymer manual before checking with you guys. (While I am on here,...and this may be just a little off the topic of the thread,...I am considering an upgrade in power on my 1973 Sea Nymph Big Water 14R V-bottom boat that
now has a 9.5 hp Johnson motor. The boat is rated for a 25 horsepower motor.
I want to upgrade all the way to a 25 HP motor. Since I am an OMC guy all the
way,I would like to know if this model year range in motors is good. I am thinking
about motors from 1973 to 1990,...Johnson mostly, but Evinrude would also work, too. My thinking is that the 9.5 HP motor may use more fuel overall if I
have to run full throttle all the time vs. a 25 where I can ease off the throttle to save fuel if necessary, but still have the power to get back to the dock in a hurry should a storm suddenly blow up.)
