Which motor?

Ok, I do realize this is going to be a very subjective question, and most answers will be based on whatever motor a particular person is fond of, but here goes. I am getting ready to replace a 1986 Force 125 ( the white Chrysler beast ). I have 3 engines in mind from the shop I use regularly. all are early to mid 90's, al are said to be in good shape. First is a Suzuki DT115, 2nd is a Johnson 110 with rebuilt powerhead with only 25 hours on it,and lastly is a Johnson 120 with rebuilt powerhead with only run time on the bench to set timing etc, so it hasn't been broken in yet. I have been leaning towards the Suzuki, but want others opinions. Thank you for any input on the subject. The motor is going on a 1986 Trophy 1910 Center console used alost exclusively in the ocean ( So California ).

Re: Which motor?

Ok, 1 more added to the mix, and this one may be the one I get, it's a '96 Johnson 112 spl, which is really just the 115 without VRO which as far as i'm concerned is a plus. So, any input would be greatly appreciated on any of these motors, positive or negative.

Re: Which motor?

Really, they are all good motors.

Rebuilts ? Depends on how thoroughly they were done.

Hmmmm, why did they put all the money into rebuilding, and then get rid of it after only a few hours?

Any warranty period with these motors?

Condition is everything, and we can't see that on the internet.

Re: Which motor?

90 day warranty, the rebuild was done by the shop i'm getting them from. Carbs are rebuilt on all of them, new impellers and lower unit oil, etc before he sells them. Benn dealin with this shop for a long time. Most were taken off to repower with 4 strokes. Thanks for your input tho. At this point i'm leaning toward the Johnson 112spl for 2 reasons, 1. it's the newest, and 2 anything I have found on it seems like it's a pretty bullet proof motor. ( and I like that it doesn't have VRO )
