Which one to get? HELIX 7 SONAR GPS or Garmin 44dv?

I am looking into buying a sonar gps combo. Which one would you get, the HELIX 7 SONAR GPS or Garmin 44dv?
I apologize for the question. I am new to boating.

I would go with the larger screen. 4" gets jammed up with all you can display and a 7" display is about two times larger.

Have you looked at the Garmin units that have the same screen size at the Humminbird?

I would definitely go somewhere and try them out and check out the displays and see how easy the interface is to use. I currently have a Lowrance on one my boats and it will be replaced by a Garmin.

Its $150 more for the Helix ( $450 ), and worth every penny for the larger screen.

A 7" Garmin starts at $700

If you are going to use it for fishing, get the 7" Helix.

If you are using the sonar as just a depth finder for pleasure boating, the Garmin may be ok.
