Looking for a new "used boat" in the year range from 2000-2007. In the 20'-22' range.
I like Chaparral, And I like a few of those Yamaha boats. Any others I should look at?

Can a Chaparral Sunesta (deck boat) be taken out into the ocean? Or is the hull design not meant for it?

There is no answer to this, as its your preferance not anyone elses.
As for the deck boats in the ocean, sure as long as you have the experiance for it. I heard of a guy that takes his pontoon on the ocean, its not for me yet, or ever. but it can be done.
