Got a 1996 Force 120 HP OB and its time for new spark plugs.

Should I replace its factory Champion L76V plugs with:
- NGK BUHW ?
- NGK BUZHW ?
- NGK stk 2622 ?
Or, keep the factory Champion L76V plugs ?

thanks.

Unless you experienced rough idling with Champions or tend to have misfiring after only running it for a few hours, the NGK BUHW might perform better. Otherwise, they're basically the same. The BUHW tends to be more resistant to fouling and more rugged voltage requirements for a good spark.

Take a green Skotchbrite pad and using your nail clean the surface and gap. The original plugs can be cleaned any number of times and very rarely wear to the point of needing replacement. If the center electrode is still above the insulator, that is, not worn to a level below the white porcelain, the plug is still usable.

If you decide that you simply want to try the NGK plugs, the equivalent to L76 V is OK as is the BUHW which I believe is the equivalent of L20V. (the old Force and Chrysler plug).

Once you clean sparkplugs, they do tend to foul a little bit faster BUT---as I mentioned before, you can clean them almost indefinitely.

Many thanks for advising that spark plugs can be cleaned and cleaned - until their center point tip are below the porelain. I like it when money can be saved....

As Frank mentioned, I clean mine too instead of fingernail I use copper wire brush to clean the "hole".
