Which spark plug?

I'm putting on new spark plugs on my 1992 60 hp ELENE.

The owner's manual lists QL77JC4 @ .03 inches as the recommended plug, with L77JC4 as the aleternate.

I bought the engine rebuilt by a very reputable dealer, and the L77JC4 plugs are in there. It runs fine. Do any of the really smart people here have any opinion on QL vs L plugs....and why?

BTW, I will be purchasing the plugs (and some other stuff) from iboats, because I support businesses which are helpful to me.

Either is fine. The 'Q' plug has RF suppression, which may help if you have any interference with electronics on board.

Most countries have legislation demanding use of non-radio interference plugs type 'Q' if staying with Champion brand. Not only may your radio equipment on-board get disturbance, but everyone around you as well. Even if a bit more expensive, stay with the 'Q' plugs. As for engine performance, no difference.

Agreeing with both of the above replies, but we should point out that a few late model motors want the "Q" because the igniton system likes them better.

BTW, the Q means it has inductive suppression.....not the same as resistive ("R") suppression plugs.
