My motor is E150STLCEM. Anyone know what part# is the correct test wheel for this motor? I have a factory manual that I just picked up on E-bay, but so far, haven't been able to find where it calls out which test wheel. Thanks!

(bump)

I'm also wondering if there is any tool I can improvise as a piston stop so I can mark my flywheel and verify the correct position of my pointer. Or do I need to call the dealer and order the tool called out in the manual? Thanks much!

i have the exact same engine model; can't help you with these questions, but i had noticed some older threads you had with ignition problems similar to some I had with my e150stlcem and am curious about how things turned out. you can e-mail me directly at bkelly@emory.edu to swap tales about this make and year. I am also going thru the link &synch, etc., which it sounds like you are doing, so we can compare notes

Look on the specifications pages. These pages should be the first pages of the manual. Along with torque specs, horsepower ratings, etc. Should list the test wheel part numbers for the V6 engines made that year. (my old 78 manual lists 387388 for all V6 models that year.) Once you get the number, you may want to check with a dealer, as it is possible that it may supercede to other numbers that will work equally well. I am sure that this old number or any in this supercession chain will work for you. The point is that if you are shopping on ebay, you want to know all the potential numbers that may work for you.

I too have this engine and would like to know the P/N on that wheel when you find it.

farginicehole2 & wormboy, I'd like to hear from you guys about your link & sync procedures. Please drop me an email: bassbuff@ultimatebass.com.

Thanks emdsapmgr, I'll look at the specs page again to see if I missed it somehow. If it's not there, it looks like I may have to call the dealer. Wormboy and reneauew, I'll e-mail you guys now.

It sounds like I may be able to try the Joe Reeves method for checking/setting the WOT timing. I'm a little confused about his statement that the pickup timing will take care of itself though.
