Whirlpool Imperial washing machine

I just bought it for $10 off ebay and picked it up. Seller says it doesnt agitate well anymore.<br />I figured ten bucks was worth the risk to see if I could repair it myself.<br />Has anyone any experience with this machine or similar?

Don't think dishwashers agitate. <br /><br />Have repaired several dishwashers, what is it doing wrong?<br /><br />Dishwashers fill the tub with water, then pump the water through the spinning bars spraying it onto the dishes. When they lose power and don't clean well, they usually just need cleaned. They get a buildup of food and greese particles in the plumbing and lose volume. <br /><br />Often running a dishwasher cleaning product in it will make it run better for a short time.

Usually clotheswashers have a system like a brake drum with shoes inside, check to see if the linings are ok or have oil on them.

That's what I thought you might mean.<br /><br />Pull the cover off and watch it run, you will see the clutch and everything. They are pretty simple to see how they work. Parts are a little expensive, but for $10 you won't be hurt. <br />Go to www.Ehow.com search washing machine and you will find how to fix it.

it could just be the dogs in the top of the agitater if the moter is running right pull the tower and check the dogs they are just cheap plastic and where out, about $10.00
