Re: white evinrude

The Saltwater edition has some "stainless steel" components to withstand the harshness of saltwater corrision. Otherwise, I am told it is the same.

Sometimes Saltwater versions have variations regarding corrosion protection. Sometimes they use anodes of a different metal, sometimes thay have more anodes, sometimes the only difference is cosmetic (different stickers and higher price). The paint might be better quality, or perhaps additional coats.

sometimes saltwater editions are the longer shaft ones.
a bass boat doesnt need a 20" shaft. a offshore 30' centerconsole wit twin ouboards does need 25 or 30" shafts.

I was told by my dealer that the only differance between etec and etec saltwater is the paint job. Supposedly a little tougher on the white one.
