The only numbers I have memorized is the house I grew up in (disconnected for 18 yrs when the folks retired), a GF's from 22 yrs ago (also disconnected), a GF from 25yrs ago (yep, disconnected), and my wife's cell. So I have one active phone number memorized. I rely on google and my Droid.

With almost every phone or carrier, you can backup the phone electronically. No need for a paper backup.

And.... that's what THEY said-thought, um....guarenteed!

Of course if you don't actually enable the backup feature, you aren't going to get backed up. Takes some responsibilty by the phone owner to do it.

Absolutely. I love Google, I use so many of their products(all free) to help my business.
My phone is backed up every time I sign into my gmail account. Pretty fail safe if you ask me, especially since you can sign into your gmail account anywhere.

Technology is leaving some behind though, and that's OK. Like my wife, she barely knows how to check her email, but that's why she has me!

That's incorrect. Verizon offers back up assistance (not sure that's the exact name) that will automatically upload and down load you contacts daily. Your contacts are stored for you and can be accessed and managed on line. All at no cost.

I guess you missed my link above which shows Verizon Backup Assistant.

Bottom line, you do a little research and you can find out how to backup electronically. It does it automatically. The only non-automatic thing about it is that it doesn't set it up for you. You have to actually log in to the website and set it up. That may be too much work for some people I suppose.

And like I said, on any Android(google based) phone, you just need a gmail account. Just reiterating for those who might have this type of phone, it's an amazing, automated feature.

I am loving my wireless tethering with my new phone. I can get online, anywhere I have a phone signal, using my phone as a modem and router, for free! Makes business much easier for me because I am constantly running between properties and my truck is my rolling office.

I have an old flip phone. It doesn't take pictures or access the web. If it rings I answer it. My wiifes phone is a mini-computer. I also have half a dozen phone numbers written down. Now if I can only rember what names to put with them? Now that we are well into the 21st century; my wife is dragging me kicking and screaming into the 20th century. I guess, steam engines aren't digital.

The ones I need to know are remembered. The occasional ones are in my computer address book.
