I found old plastic tubs of what were once worms...beyond that, just a bunch of rotted wood.

Re: Who else found stuff in their boat?

On my first boat (1965 MFG), I found a set of old brass knuckles.
That is awesome.

I found some thong underwear and three dildos, one was HUGE, under the jump seat in mine. Funny thing is the previous owner was older and his wife didn't look like the type to wear thongs, let alone use that dildo!

Maybe they were from their daughter? Or worse, their son?!?

Brian
I'll bet the daughter used to sneak away to the boat for privacy.

My old MFG came complete with a racoon's nest in the lower area full of feces, torn up life vest stuffing, all the foam they used to add boyancy ripped up, three softball sized hornet's nests and an army of carpenter ants. Two days, lots of soap, water, surgical gloves and masks and shop vacuuming later, I got it cleaned up for rebuilding.

An oar, a complete set of charts for the ohio river, 2 fans, a toaster, 4 pfd's, about 4 tap lights, and a 10 cd changer the PO had installed w/o my knowledge

Re: Who else found stuff in their boat?

a toaster???

The boat I got this spring didn't have surprises but it was nicely rigged with a GPS, compass, anchor, cover and bimini. Also the guy left me a gallon jug of oil, cleaning products, a bottle of ring free, and a hand-held VHF--I don't know why he didn't keep it.

The best was the boat I got this summer, just for its 20 year old motor to replace one of mine. I didn't care what was on the boat and neither did he; when I got it home it was like I trailered home a yard sale:
Fish finder and transducer (which I installed on other old boat)
1 gallon and 2 qts oil
VHF--mike is dead, but I took the antenna off and cables and installed them on my new boat (saved $80 right there).
GPS (left on boat--not sure if it worked)
lighted Richie compass (installed on new boat)
Chesapeake Bay chart book
2 good filet/fishing knives
broken Camillus pocket knife
New spare prop
good anchor, chain and rode
lines incl. a new 50' braided
4 PFD's new (orange)
Ski vest
ski line
ski harness
a few lures
cleaning products (seldom used from the shape of the boat!)
Soggy owners manuals for GPS and fish finder
titles to boat and trailer, from owner previous to my seller
Misc tools including an open-end wrench that used to be a crescent wrench.
hull plugs
fuses and electrical
various small stuff
old fishing licenses
mouse nest
enough pine straw to mulch my azaleas
Funny, the seller remembered the $10 bill inside the key float! Everything else was mine.

Mushrooms and cottonwood trees about two feet tall. The boat is only 11 years old but was neglected.

Nothing good. Some fishing stuff. Rod holders. Planer boards. And a working, bt ancient King Loran thing. That I have no idea how to use. Looks like it came from the set of Tron.

All that I found on my 18' Stratos bass boat was a used set of spark plugs wrapped up in a white athletic sock under the engine cowling. I guess the PO kept them for a back up set.

Re: Who else found stuff in their boat?

In a glass bass boat I had foolishliy bought and threw in the towel on, I found 2 brand new PFD's, a still in package Hummingbird Max fish finder, a bimini top, and a huge Plano tackle box with crankbaits, spinner baits, jigs, top water baits, hooks, and packages of unopened soft plastic lures. They appeared to have been purchased recently and I figured the hard lures and plastics were worth at least $500. The whole boat purchase was a bad deal, but when I called the previous owner to tell him I had found these things and to return them, he said no, just keep it all. At least something from it turned out good.
