Re: Who Else Is Quitting Smoking { or needs to }

Haven't had any problems with dreams myself but like I said they got me on so many pills { 6 in the morning and 7 at night + 2 more during the day } its hard for me to tell whats going on half the time but I haven't had any problems with dreams yet. I also only sleep about 4 hours a night along with a couple of hours of power napping in the afternoon { some times have no choice }. Worst time is when they change my meds around to try something new. Mess's my whole system up. I've even lost days at a time where I couldn't remember where I'd been or what I did. Just changed doctors so I get to go through the new pill thing again. I still think CHANTIX works the best but what works for one doesn't always work for all, thats why doctors are susposed to be smart { though I wonder somatimes }...ANIMAL :D

Ya sometimes I get a little mixed up so when that happens I stop all of them for a couple of days then start over. And I have to watch getting cut, I bleed like a stuck hog. I would bleed to death in less than half the time normal people would. Can't take asiprin for headache ether { makes me sick as a dog,,,already take max dose the body can stand }. I just pop a couple of sleeping pills and go to bed and try to sleep it off. All ready take so much asiprin, acetaminophen, and ibuprofen that nothing works on headaches any more. All you can do is sleep it off....ANIMAL :D

I used CHANTIX also. It worked great til I stopped taking it. I did have a problem with the dreams also. I tried welbutrin but I found out I am allergic to it and caused me to itch something bad. I took Chantix for about a month and half and felt than I didn't need it anymore. It only took about 2 days before I was back to smoking. I think my biggest problem is that I work nights and gets really boring at times. I try to keep myself occupied with other things. (like this site and others) My smoking buddy at work is going to another shift so that will probably make it easier for me to quit not having her asking me to go smoke. Animal, like you said earlier some things work for some and not for others. My wife has the ability to just up and quit. She will smoke for a year or 2 then one day say "I'm done" and quit for a couple years. I have tried the cold turkey thing but I am to high strung. I'm not sure whats worse for me. The high blood pressure from getting angry at the smallest of things or the smoking. I know my wife and kids hate it when I try to quit cold turkey. I have an appointment with my doctor on friday and I'm going to get another script for Chantix and try it again.

I woke coughing my head off bad March 19 2005 I threw my smokes and lighters in the trash and quit cold turkey, I never to this day took a drag again, now the smell of smoke turns my stomach..........

I did the very thing 20 years ago and never looked back.
