We are looking at a '98 Doral 250, but can't seem to find anyone around here who knows much about them. It is powered by a fuel injected 7.4 with a Volvo duo-prop has around 300 hrs total.

It's a bank repo, so talking to the owners isn't possible.

Any input is helpfull!

Thanks!

John

A good friend of mine had a Doral and loved it .the boat was a Canadian built boat and the company went out in the mid 90s and they seem to be back again. The boat he had was well built and beautiful, but because no one ever heard of it he had trouble selling it. Charlie

Lake Rat....in my neck of the woods (North of Toronto) Doral is very big and has been since back in the late 70's. We used to have a 1988 Doral Citation (25') which later changed it's name to Doral 250 (I think back in 1991) It was our first little cruiser great for mom and pop plus 2 kids. The Doral company today has changed hands but they still build a quality boat and there are all kinds of them out on the water (here in Canada anyway). As long as it was manintained then you have nothing to worry about as far as the construction goes.

You realize you're replying to a thread that had it's last post in 2003, right?

Not many Doral people around. I just bought one last year. A Monticello, love it!

I need to order a stainless anchor though and local dealer has no luck w/ Doral. Anyone know a good Doral dealer who can get parts?

Mine is an entry level 170 BR model, but I have worked for a marina when i was younger that sold them and tested many models. Loved them, quality is excellent, very sharp boats. Loved mine, has had many many hours of use. Nothing but great things to say about Doral.

Anyone know of more active Doral forums?

Or a dealer who can get parts? I need a polished stainless anchor for a Monticello.

What trailer should I be looking at for my boat? 6400lb dry. Do I need a double or triple axel? What capacity is recommended?

Family friends bought a late eighties Doral (closed deck, 18 footer I believe) and it was (and still is) a great boat. That boat pulled tubes and skiis many hours without complaint. Lots of room inside and a nice, dry ride.

Doral are a great boat. Even our old 1985 outfit in my signature. Solid as a rock and really fun for the family.

For Risquebznss...There are several dealers in Canada. I drive by one on the way to the cottage. It's Boatmax Ltd. in Inisfil, Ontario, north of Toronto. If you google them, you'll get an email address and phone number.
Great boats BTW. Considered one of the best around here.

Thanks Jeep, my local dealer in MN hasn't gotten back to me after repeated attempts to get pricing/info since last fall. Geez, you'd think w/ the boat business in the crapper, dealers would want to be responsive. They only told me Doral is hard to deal with as far as parts.

I'll give another dealer a try. thanks.

They're slow on return emails. I was up there looking at the clearance 190's they have (2008). They had about 10 of them left, but wouldn't deal on price. I ended up going with the Glastron anyways. They were really nice boats though.
