Oil, defense, bases, airspace, arms sales, sorry that we killed a few Muslims, don't mess with the Israelis etc. etc. I am in no way knowledgeable, but the fact that George Bush has a close relationship with people that hold bizarre cultural values does not mean anything negative about George's character or indicate any illegal dealings between families.

.....you're right. You can't necessarily hold it against someone for hanging out with the unsavories. It may not bode well with some.....but it isn't a guaranteed indicator that you're not on the up and up yourself.
Sort of like the neighbourhood priest standing on the corner sharing a smoke and a few jokes with the local hookers. It will set a few people 'a talkin' (enter the church lady) but it doesn't mean he isn't doing his job.

........when you think about it, I don't think there is any way you could call any of those guys (Saudi's/Saudi leadership) liberals.

....not only that, but guess who else is a Saudi born/Saudi....Osama...but wait, 15 of the 9/11 hijackers were Saudis. Thats right....15 of them. There were only a few Iraqi's involved.
They were all nuts tho'.
Maybe its time to pay the Saudi's a few overhead visits instead. How did this fall between the cracks on attack day? Frikkin' map was upside down and the GPS was off.

The reason I posed the open ended question about child molesters n' wife beaters was to make a point that apparently went out the window, (except maybe to QC: as I agree with his position on this thread). Liberals, (and I'm not labelin' any poster on this thread, [I'm makin' a 'straw man' argument to knock down in the exercise, n' hopefully: make a point]), like to simplify cornplex geopolitical events so that the experts on homosexuality n' victimhood can simple mindedly get onboard the Liberal train.

Please cornsider the well known fact that FDR, (not my favorite historical President in any way shape or form), WAS A GREAT WAR TIME PRESIDENT, and he directly allied himself and funneled vast amounts of military materials to one of the, (IMHO THE) WORST and most savage dictator in history: Uncle Joe Stalin. Hitler and Charman Mao can fight over the number two spot as the worst in history, again: IMHO! FDR made a deal with the same terrible dictator that Hitler had earlier made a pact with to divide continental Europe. Did it help us WIN WW2????? Unquestionably!!!

Now we want to hammer the one leader who is actively protecting America from Islamo Facists, while he is under assult from the enemy within. NO DEAL. We have been in bed with the Saudis for over three decades, well before GWB came to power. We do need oil: FOLKS. Last time I checked: the Saudis produce a significant amount of oil. Liberals seem to want our leaders to take actions contrary to America's interest. It's one of the reasons we tend to ponder the question: Is Liberalism a mental disorder?

It may make perfect sense to an expert on homosexuality n' victimhood, unable to think a critical thought: to attack the Saudis. That said: if ya have one functional brain cell that can engage in critical thought, n' ponder the total picture of geopolitics we face today; attacking insulting or otherwise hammering the disgusting Monarchs in Saudi Arabia MAKES ZERO SENSE.
