Re: Who made it

Except for the front bench it looks a lot like my little Sears. Therefore she may be right in saying it's a Ward. But that's just me thinking out loud.

Thanks

Yup, I gotta agree with "Weldor", looks exactly the same as my 12 ft "Sears". Yours looks to be in better condition as mine is 30 + years old. Even after all those years it barely leaks an egg cup full of water following a full day on the water. Great little boats...they used to guarantee them against leaks for life...wonder if theyd still honor that :) ??

That looks identical to one that my neighbor had and sold. It didn't possibly come from Tennessee, did it?

Looks like a longer version of an old Montgomery Wards Car Topper that I used to have. Not sure who actually made them but a buddy had an old Larson that looked pretty close. There may have been several makers of Wards boats, I'm sure it was a lowest bidder type deal.

back then sears, ward, firestone tire, all had a line of boats and motors with their name on them. just like sears, kenmore appliances, craftsman tools, and lawn equipment. sears never manufactured any of these things.

How much does she want for it? My neighbor sold his with 2 small outboard engines for somewhere in the neighborhood of 1500 if that gives you any idea... and the boat does really look identical in both the manufacturer and in the condition that it's in (man he took downright excellent care of it). He offered to let me buy it for 1200, but I didn't have the money at the time ( was about to have a baby at the time ).

They want 400.00 dollars for it trailer and boat. look's like a deal but I wonder if it will hold a Johnson 15hp.

Re: Who made it

I can't help you there, my neighbor only had a 6hp running motor, and a 2 or 3 hp trolling motor on his.
