Who makes my MerCruiser 3.0L?

I have another dumb question. Who made the 1999 MerCruiser 3.0L? Is it Ford or GM or does it really even matter? I trying to locate parts/manuals, and I was asked who manufactured the engine. It is in a 1999 Bayliner 1850 if that makes any difference.

the 3.0 is a GM industrial engine. GM makes the block and all the inside parts then ships it to Merc who bolts on all the outside marine stuff.
Manuals can be found in the "Adults Only" section.

GM...and the service manual is in The Adults Only thread, at the beginning of this forum.

It's a big PDF file...so be patient!

Ayuh,... Did you look in the Adults Only section,... The factory Manuals are there....

It's a GM based motor,... Ford hasn't been used in 20 years....
