Who sells transom extensions?

I am interested in converting an i/o to an outboard setup and I'm looking for all the companies that make the transom extensions that allow you to hang a large outboard off the back.<br /><br />I hope you can give a good list to check out. Thanks...

There are 4 that I am familiar with. I'm sure someone may report some others.<br /><br />Stainless Marine, in Miami;<br />D&D Marine, in Mississippi<br />Armstrong, and <br />Gil Brackets. <br />Do a search in google or yahoo with one of those names and "outboard bracket". You should get something. <br />I just installed a Stainless marine bracket on my 20' Grady White. Removed the i/o and hung a Yamaha outboard. Working up all the steering and electrical over the winter and hope to have it ready by spring.<br />Good luck. Let me know if you need any more info.

EZLoader,<br /><br />What type of extension are you looking for?<br /><br />A Gil Bracket will actually add some floatation and can be equiped with swim platforms, etc. It will also move the motor back significantly which adds performance (makes the boat longer too).<br /><br />Then you have the whole jack plate and hydraulic extension configuration. My neighbor uses a scissor extension that can be moved in and out and up and down. He does a lot of flats fishing so vertical lift is important to him.<br /><br />Then there is the static angle bracket that bolts directly to the transom and provides about a 4" extension.<br /><br />You will definately need to do something with the transom to make sure it can structurally support the motor.<br /><br />Just my $0.02<br /><br />Happy New Year.<br /><br />Peace.<br /><br />Ed.
