Who thinks this is normal?

Replaced water pump on my 150 crossflow. There's a lot of water pressure pushing out of the upper lower unit area closest to the transom. Is it supposed to be like this? Note the stream going toward the transom and stream from the downward facing drains.

My vote is normal. It's just a drain for the midsection so water doesn't freeze in there in the winter.
But I'm no expert.

FOLLYBOB,
I looked at your picture and it looks normal to me. When I run my motor on the muffs the water does come out like yours does to. You have lower unit drain screws for the water pump to drain when it is out of the water especially when it gets colder and freezes. Like I said it looks normal to me. The folks on this forum will chime in also if I am wrong. Take care, Bob:)

I assume you're speaking of that small square hole in located at the seam point of the lower unit to the upper exhaust housing in the foremost front portion of the seam.

As mentioned above, that's a water outlet and what you're seeing is normal.
