Just though it would be cool to ask all of you guys what brand new boat you would buy if you were going to get a new one for this boating season.

also if it is very different then the one you have now then why? what do you need in the new one?

here is mine!
I think I would get a Chaparral 19 Ski Fish H2O Series in red w/220HP 4.3L and a wake tower

I have a older 16' bowrider w/115 mariner 2 stroke, definitely time for an inboard, and nice to be able to fish :)

anyone have any thoughts on the new H2O series ?

If I have to pay for it.... no way in heck would I EVER consider a new boat.... used all the way

If it's free (with free fuel)..... it's be about a 60' carver sportfisher/cruiser.... free and I have to buy my own fuel.... 40' carver

Best advice is get the biggest bang for your buck and if it's a Chaparral 19 Ski Fish go for it because Chaparral make decent boats. Just got to add there is no such thing as a free boat. They all cost in some form or fashion... and we all pay what we can afford for fun out on the water!!!

I like old boats--kind-of like old women: The sadder but wiser girl for me.

BUT: If I had the money--read cubic money--and were to buy a new boat, It would still be like a woman----ARM CANDY.

My arm candy is being built now (see my avatar), so I already voted "new".

Re: Who want a brand new boat??

I would buy new
If no money issues it would be a Lund Explorer
99% of my boating is fresh water fishing.
This would just be a bigger, longer, wider, more HP
Currently shopping for a new boat for May 2012
For my use / needs just looking at Lund
Currently I do not waterski nor wakeboard (did in past now too old)
I have owned a SeaRay and Springbok in the past - - different boating use at that time
Buy what you want and enjoy

Re: Who want a brand new boat??

I don't travel to fish nearly as much as I used to so the advantage of having a boat I could easily trailer has diminished somewhat over the years. Since mobility is no longer a big concern, I'd jump up a couple of feet in length to a GW Chesapeake 290. Same layout and design as my current boat only a couple feet longer

I already bought my last August. 2012 xpress center console 20ft four stroke 115hp. Old boat was 18ft VIP bow rider, I decided to do more fishing and can still pull the kids on the tube with the new one.

Told the wife . I let you pick the boat. I have been the full time Chauffer.
When I die first. You put my ashes in the floor locker.
And give me a Viking Funeral!! :D

The Chap has been perfect. No need to replace. Improve with bow & stern thrusters. Done.

Probly be a new supra launch242 or moomba mojo2.5

Most likely a moomba as they are built by skiers choice(sam[SUP][/SUP]e as supra)just a bit less pricey.

Open checkbook that's not mine... a Carver boat please http://www.carveryachts.com/36mariner.aspx I love the look of these!!!

Nice boat, I have been looking at yachts quite a bit and the only thing I hate that I keep seeing is the lack of bow usability, almost looks like it's always the last part to be designed, and some of them are really hard to get around to the bow

Re: Who want a brand new boat??

Would never buy a new boat unless I hit the lottery or something, debt sucks, I would buy used and rebuild but I work for a boat company so parts are cheap.

Dream boat on someone elses dime would be a Weld-Craft 18' mod-V with a 150 Yamaha and an 80 Jet drive, run one or the other and a big pile of parts because I would want to design and build the interior myself, they build the hulls from 3/16'' diamond plate with 1/8 gunnels so it would be nearly indestuctable.

For normal fishing I would run the 150 but there is a huge stretch of untouched river right by my house but it is shallow and would need a jet drive to run, figure with practice you could change engine in 15-20 minutes.
