Who would have a prop for a late 60's outboard?

The factory manual for my Wizard (Chrysler 9.2) is listed as an 8 X 8, my prop is a 5 X 5 two blade drive pin type prop.

Would the 8 X 8 provide more speed, or power?

That 5 X 5 sounds way off to me. Thats smaller than that found on a 3 hp.two thoughts it may have been on something like a pontoon or someone somehow put a prop from a smaller motor on it.Do we know what boat it is on now?Run on a light boat boat 5 X 5 would be slow and motor rpm in the distruction range. On typical small 12-14 ft fishing boat/Jon boat the 8 X 8 will produce better speed and the motor will be closer to its reccomended range.
5 X 5 is so small the 8 X 8 might give a better hole shot as well.

steelespike,

It can't be a 5 x 5, it measure 8" across

It has MICHIGAN G C 5 5 engraved on the front.

A brief look on the net seems to indicate GC 55 is an 8 X 8.
What boat are you pushing?8 X 8 is indeed listed as the standard prop.
