There's a guy here in England called Paddy Green, he works the caberet clubs.
He has got to be the funniest I have ever seen, he works real hard on his gags and uses no foul language.

If you listen to XM comedy you'll get burned out on all of them after a while but over the years i have fallen in and out with:

Probably have to go with the Club Sandwich or Wino eating grapes right now. But each time I listen to one of his shows I find something new that cracks me up.

I especially love his stints on That 70's Show. "I did not lose a leg in Vietnam..."

I love standup comedy . . . After reviewing the names above, I have to go with Bob Newhart . . . Just a class guy and his routines never get old. "The Buttoned-Down Mind of Bob Newhart" is a must have. It was the first comedy album to make it to the top of the charts.

The first time I saw Robin Williams as Mork I was hooked . . . I had a George Carlin phase for sure. He's waaaay to cynical for me now though.

Most everything from the UK is hilarious. I loved watching Benny Hill and Monty Python(s) Flying Circus. Anybody ever see The Two Ronnies ?...Really funny

I had a George Carlin phase for sure. He's waaaay to cynical for me now though.

I loved George's first record - the one with the radio & TV commercial & game show & news bits (I'm Al Sleet - the hippy-dippy weatherman...... with all the hippy-dippy weather, man). That was before his "7 words you can't say on TV" days. I think he was much funnier "clean". Now I turn the channel when I see him.
Went thru the "Monty Python" phase - their old stuff can still raise a grin or two.
I'd have to say today it's Ron White - shame he had to team up with those other 3 yockos.

WC Fields was the funniest single comedian I've ever seen on film. If I could watch only 1 film for the rest of my life, it would be "The Bank ****"

Only comedian I ever paid to see live was Sam Kinison. For some reason Steven Wright came to mind when I first read the question.
