We own 25 mixers from 25 to 2500 gallons some old some new

Most are made right here in upstate NY they all have at least two gearboxs

We just had a breakdown and removed the gearboxs for repiar

After looking at them we contacted the company that made them and were told they would make new parts and rebuild them for 7800 dollars

We signed a work order packed them put them on a truck and then they called us a week later and said we can not fix them :devil:and it will cost 1400 dollars if we want the cores back

We need the cores as we can go a different way now that they backed out

WTF kinda of a way is this to run a company ?

And if we want they will make us a new ones in 3 months for 9000 dollars

I am so happy all the other mixers have Nord or Eurodrive boxs on them never had to wait more than a week for a part in 30 years

They want to charge you $1400 for your own stuff? Why do I have a feeling it cast about $1400 to hire an attorney to force them to return your cores? Sounds like a scene from the Soprano's to me.

What do you mix? Concrete? I would get my cores back and replace the gearboxes with something I could get parts for, assuming the downtime is costing you money. If they forced me to pay $1400 I would, but then I'd file a suit against them in small claims court, provided I had documentation of them agreeing to fix the gearboxes in advance of you shipping them. I would advise them of this in advance. Time is money...

No way there the best you call them up and take a WAG at what you need and they get it for you the next day :)

We make soap and other stuff like Mud the women love so much

The mud is pretty much like Concrete only harder to mix :)

I do not want to name the company involved in a public forum

Its not that easy to change things its a sanitary mixer with a DUO-PROP drive like a giant outdrive in a 2500 gallon bowl and just for fun the main shaft is 3" and they only make 2-15/16 drives now

Re: Why American Companys Go Under

Here is another rip-off.
We wonder why the Western world is getting done-over.
I have to change my Quality Assurance to SQF2000 as i now need a full HACCP PLan (and I havn't a clue what that means).
I now have to pay $5,500 to have a Consultant to train me and establish the plan. If I don't I can't supply my Chain Store.
Then I have the cost of testing in labs etc.
Everybody's porking me.
If I do have an 'issue' with my product, by the time it is identified the product is long gone, and then they ask me 'what procedures do I have in place to rectifiy the situation', and promptly accept my solution.
All I am doing is paying my share to keep another educated consultant in income, who without many like me would be unemployable, and if he ever got paid for what he actually achieved, would probably owe me money at the end of the week.
I will let you in to a little secret.
The raw materials to produce my product cost 11c. When it arrives in your wifes shopping basket it is $1.99.
The Quality Assurance programs effect everyone along the line. eg me...all suppliers of raw materials....all packaging.....all transport....all utilities.....all admin.....transport....distributors.....retailers....and I probably missed another half dozen.
Sorry to hi-jack your thread, but I am sick of the parasites.
Cheers
Phillip

I love this. Americans I think calling others stupid. No wonder we cant get anything done.
Lets give it all to the third worlders and live in peace and harmony while broke.
When America stops hating itself we might get something done.

Re: Why American Companys Go Under

Well its going to end up costing me 400 dollars in ransom and 430 in round trip insured shipping to get my stuff back because somebody does not want to do a job at the agreed cost OR even do it at all

There best effort turned into a 3 month lead time

I will let you know how Eurodrive supplys us with a custom 3" bore unit

Nothing wrong with the Eurodrive Boxes.

If it were a Eurodrive box the main shaft would be 75mm. That could be the problem, your trying to get a metric inch to fit an imperial mm.

I give up. Its all global. So you can tell your broke neighbor.

I do not like Euro, drive and box used in the same sentence.

Eurodrive GmBH is a German company supplying gearboxes worlwide, gearboxes sold in the USA are made in Germany and shiped as parts and then assembled, a lot of European products are sold in the USA like this, it's a way of getting around your import laws.
