Thanks, Molaker for the additional info. I don't do this kind of stuff often enough any more to stay adequately sharp.

Neither do I and I'm fading fast. The old adage "forgot more than you'll ever know" applies more than I might like.

Heh heh.

These last few weeks I've been working out all the math for patents. I'm doing stuff I haven't though about in almost 20 years. Fortunately, I still have my old textbooks. Who knew?

Well, there you go. Seems to verify the need for the diode, although I still maintain it's probably already half-wave rectified off the backside of the powerpack. Won't hurt anything though.


I've always just put it on the oscilloscope before, kind of avoids the whole issue.
