Why is fuel leaking from my vapor separator?

Filled my fuel tank and my vapor separator started leaking out the top vent.
Any correlation?
Thanks,
J

A vapor separation tank is like a carb float bowl. A low pressure pump fills the tank and the float inside the tank shuts off the fuel when it gets full. Leaking out the vent means the needle valve has either failed or there is a piece of crud in the valve.

Could remove the tank and see if it can be cleaned and reinstalled

Thanks alldodge for the reply.
I found removal is pretty straight forward. I got the unit off last night and opened it up. Looks good inside, nothing dirty, broken, out of place. I removed the needle and float and cleaned them and the needle seat.
I put the unit back together and started it up and the leak moved to the rear of the engine at the fuel pump interface.
Yikes! What did I do?

Leak stopped at VST and moved to low pressure pump?
Would say, fixed the tank leak and have another. Leaking at the pump, fitting or fuel line?

Thank you. Seems odd. I got scared and ran. I'll have to look at how this pump mounts and what gaskets it has.

p.s., should I get fuel out of the VST's schrader valve?

I;m not familiar with your motor, but the my VST didn't have a schrader valve. The Schrader valve was on the fuel rail on my motor. That said, they don't put schrader valves on areas with no pressure, might be the high pressure side

Hmmm, ....
Schrader valve on fuel rail, ... presence of fuel. Must be a bleeder.
Thanks,
