and im told same, I think at 11-12 they start testing us, smart *** comments etc. But my son knows that I have thick skin and we all have a great sense of humor - but I tell ya, I can predict this as soon as his buddys are here - we have our favorite buddy of his here for whole weekend(i help out his mom and dad who are divorced, he has 2 younger sisters)
Maybe they act up because theyre comfy??
Kids are sooooo interesting..... although all here know they have to eat decent(I cook or we all go out), take out trash, etc, but in return they get fun movies, me for hours of baseball and football, they do litter box and eat veggies and fruit(I always take em to store and let them choose)
Just making a few observations :)

All part of their growing up process. Those teenage years !!!! we have been through it 5 times with our children. To look on the bright side it does eventually pass at the other end of the teens (18 ish)
Your patience will be well tested by the time you get there !!!

"Interesting" is a good way to put it. Raising kids stinks most of the time, especially teenagers, IMO, but that's what we signed on to do and besides, we were all once rotten teenagers, also.

The fact that other's tell us how good our kids talk and behave, when they are at their homes, is like finding a pot of gold, at the bottom of the septic tank. ;)

I'll miss them when they grow up and out.

He behaves better at his friends place because you have raised him right.

He behaves better at his buddies house because he CAN get kicked out of there.

Agree with above . . .

I have always told Mrs. QC that we care more how they behave when we are not around than when we are. That's what we are preparing them for . . . ;)
