Math is universal. It transcends culture, race and gender. This is nothing more than the Liberal drive to reduce this country to it's lowest common denominator. Liberal policies have spawned generations of under achievers and now they are trying to capitalize on it. ...all in the name of equal outcome, not equal opportunity.

I understand the point you raise.Here's another.I've seen many police officers that were too fat to touch their toes.Or see them for that matter.Strong in math maybe.

Furthermore, tell me how this is liberal policy/law. Somebody(judges?) at the top has to allow/approve things like this to happen. Who is at the top right now? Like I said, bury your head in the sand and point fingers at everybody else when something is to your dislike.

I think we are all tired of the quota system. I am also tired of the big fat out of shape cop system, and I believe that physical ability should be a requirement for an officer to keep his job.

As out of shape as I am I have to agree with ya TX. I am extremely strong. I can run like the ****ens too, but only for a short while. I'm also about 70 pounds overweight. So far it hasn't caused me any problems but I am sure that one day it will. I don't expect to ever see all cops physically fit but fairly close to it. An extra 30 pounds or so isn't gonna hurt a thing. When you get my size or bigger then it really does start to show. On someone tall it doesn't matter as much, for me I'm 5'8" so it shows very bad. I'm very stocky with huge arm and leg muscles, but I also am developing a "beer belly" (I drink very little) and it really bothers me.

Under the old standard, Virginia Beach required all recruits to score 70 percent on each of three written tests for reading comprehension, grammar and spelling, and math

70 percent! 70! It's not like they are testing them on Alegbra or Calculus! It's math, basic math! And all they need is 70 percent!<br /><br />I wonder if you could get a judge to let you off after recieving a ticket from someone out of the new standards. After all, the chances of them doing something wrong increases as they get dumber.

And let me point out further that it has been the "conservative" redumblican party that has been at the helm for the last 5 years and loaded the DOJ with their cronies. So if the red party has been in control so long, and they are deep in this department, how can it be the "liberal's" fault?
