Why replace water impeller early in fall vs waiting till spring?

Ready to replace my impeller, wouldn't it be best to wait until spring so the rubber would not be setting up bent for 6 or more months before getting used?

Since you should be removing the drive during winterization to do other maintenance (alignment and greasing the coupler splines, and you have to drain the gear lube to change it, why not go the extra step and replace the impeller while the drive is off and easier to do?

Agreed,or leave the drive off in pieces till spring and do it then. Hope you don't loose any parts and rember how it went together....;)

To address the "spirit" of the question...
No...it makes no difference either way. Do it now, do it then...it's rubber, it'll be fine.
