wide open throttle

What is the wot rpm range for my 1975 302 ford.Also it now has a two barrel its rated at 190hp. What can I do to boost hp,and how much can I safely gain With out blowwing the motor or my checkbook

Sell the boat and buy one with HP you want.

You can put a four barrel carb and manifold on it. That will add noticable power. If you add 351 Windsor heads, that would boost it up to about 225HP. That would add about 20% more HP in all. I would only do it if the motor was in reasonable shape.<br />If you want to add any more, follow boatist's advice.

I think the WOT for that setup is 3900-4200 RPM

4400 rpm, I believe. Anything you do to your motor, you want to keep the torque curve in the low to midrange. You can also stroke that motor using a 331 cid kit. Cost you a few bucks though. A 500 cfm 4 bbl will help some, but if you think you might stroke it in the future, go with a 600 cfm marine carb.

That drive isn't going to take much more HP than the stock engine.
