Wide transom notch: Mounting kicker straight onto transom

This hyper-cutting-edge drawing looks like it was drafted on a 1985 Macintosh Plus. Forgive, but I'm about 20 minutes away from the actual boat and I don't have any pictures of it with me right now.

Question:

I have a wide cut outboard transom notch as shown in the illustration. Is there any reason why I shouldn't mount the kicker directly onto the transom, a foot or two to the right of the main outboard? There simply isn't anywhere on the transom where an auxiliary motor bracket can fit because of the wide cut away.

Thanks

As long as the kicker's lower gets down into the water enough....no reason I can think of not to do it. I mounted a small motor on my last boat in the same fashion.

Like ezmo said, the kicker prop needs to see ahead and get full water flow to it just like the main engine gets. Only other thing is being able to rotate both through their full turning circles without interference.

If you aren't going to connect the steering, be sure there is enough clearance when each is turned into each other that the props and lower units don't exchange molecules. Also be sure you can raise the kicker and still turn the OB
