My wife thinks that I spend way too much time here, but realizes what a great help it's been to us in the last year.

Tonight she went to bed early and mad because she was talking to me whilst I was reading and I told her that we've been married almost 31 years and she should know when I'm busy....She is in the spare bedroom and the door is closed.

Any others had that problem with a forum?

My wife does not have a particular problem with the iboats forum but does desire some of the time I spend here to be spent with her. I figure that if she does not always want more time then that would be the signal that our relationship was in trouble. I mean if she ever sent me off like asking if I could use more time on the forum I'd be wondering what was up with that action.

Things must change after awhile....8 months in and I could never dream of HER being in the spare bedroom. I would be lucky to get that. I just hang out in the basement......which is ok. I can play darts and there is a bar down there.

iboats is family friendly. All iboats content/pictures can be shared with any family member of any age ......from young children up through and including great great grand parents. Content that can be read aloud in a church or in-front of your Mom.

Go buy your wife some flowers and explain that the guys from iboats suggested it ;) Have you done it lately?

My wife is involved and is often asked for her input and knowledge......... get your wife involved.

We each make our own decisions and suffer the consequences . . . think about how things could have gone differently if you paused for a couple of minutes and gave her your attention.

Yea know what ya mean... But when the boats are running good and she is tanning on the water... life is Good!

Couldn't do it with out the help from iboats, and i think she knows that now.

She does get tired of me being on the puter, so we spit the time..... She is now addicted to online Deal or No Deal and she is up to 150,000 points....

Married 26 years and still counting..

Re: Wife doesn't like iboats addiction...

Married 34 years (to my first wife), she really doesn't say much about the time I spend on here....She just says "Are you talking to your boat people again?" and then goes on to the living room to watch LMN. After 5 kids I feel we can handle ANYTHING (1 girl, 4 boys, 3 grandaughters).

We joke alot on here and it's great fun....if your wife truly has a problem with it, I think you should talk to her about it, although iboats is great, family comes first....always...

No problem at my house. The admiral will come into our computer room and ask if I need my coffee cup refilled. She then may ask if anything new or interesting has been posted. Been together 33 years. She never, ever uses the computer. I've tried to teach her but she isn't interested.

Re: Wife doesn't like iboats addiction...

You need to handle this right. Once my wife knocked over a model ship I had and broke it . I pouted like a school kid and she felt bad . I then realised how stupid this was and quickly went and told her that "that toy boat or 100 just like it is not worth hurting her feeling for even one second" I was sorry........Tell her that the computer and any subject that might capture your attention is nothing to you compared to hurting her feelings and make her know it......
