So if you do anything that is not the 'Status Quo', you are a Democrat? Both shirts were political....Both parties should have been expelled from the soiree ;) ....JK

Both parties should have been, and were expelled. But I fail to see where calling our troops Nazi's in a time of war fits the criteria of "not the status quo".. Seems more like disgusting political grandstanding and putting our troops unnecessarily in the line of fire for political gain. But thats just me. I always thought if you wanted to get your agenda passed you should win elections. Silly me. Supporting our troops is suppose to be something we all agree on. If this is not the case is wearing those little pink ribbons for breast cancer research political?

Yea I know, down to health services for a fresh innoculation implant. :p

The first filibuster of a Supreme Court nominee was done in 1968. The nominee was Abe Fortus, nominated by Johnson to replace Earl Warren.

As for former presidents not commenting on current ones, G.H.W. Bush openly criticized President Clinton while Clinton was in office.
Read about it here.

Is it unsupportive of troops when anyone posts a bodycount? Or just certain people?

The federal government was shut down completely four times by the refusal of republican presidents to sign a Continuing Resolution or emergency spending bill: Reagan in 1981, 1984 and 1986, and by the first Bush in 1990, and once by a democratic president, Clinton in 1995. So I guess it's not a completely "new" spin on sad.

Cindy's not an activist? are you serious? Okay, I guess if you define "activist" as "a person who stays home and does nothing." Not a grieving mother? You are a very special person with extra-sensitive powers of sensitivity. Or does Cindy speak to you personally? What does her voice sound like? How can you distinguish it from the others? [sorry for that last bit, just couldn't resist]

[oh, and just to clarify, I was talkin bout appearances and the perceptions of couch-potato-Americans who only get the headlines & soundbites, as opposed to reality]

I didn't say they shut down government. I said they shut down procedings in the senate by a procedural stunt for the cameras. The presidents refusal to sign spending bills because congress failed to fulfill their obligations has nothing to do with my point. And it was a sad day for our government. Just another example of the democrats using procedure to get what they can't at the ballot box.

I think it is the height of cowardise that the democrat Lynn Woolsey had to invite a surogate to state what she clearly was too weak of charactor to say for herself. And wasn't willing to face the consequences of these actions. Heck, just get Cindy, she likes going to jail and making a specticle of. What leadership and conviction. And at what point would the lapdog Cindy say something you didn't already know. I have some political views I would have liked to share but heck no invite. It was a stunt and dirty trick consistant with the complete lack of values and gutless manuvers exhibited by, but not limited to the democrats in recent years. Does Cindy speak to me? Why, she is so transparent that her message has little or no value or depth. Her voice is shrill and strained and usually is echoing a voice that sounds like Michael Moore.

The other voices are saying something like "have a beer" but I'll need more time to make sure. ;)

Cindy is being manipulated by those who would appear to be her friends. Like say Lynn Woolsey. A democrat. But are really to weak to say what they are thinking.
